When musician Andrea Corr moved back to Dublin in 2019, superfans of The Corrs rejoiced. The Irish folk-pop singer, who rose to fame alongside her three siblings in one of the country's best loved musical acts, is national rock royalty.  And yet with more than ten albums in the archives, including 2017's Jupiter Calling, Corr marked her return home with a surprising new solo project:  Barefoot Pilgrimage, her compelling memoir, debuted earlier this year to critical acclaim.

The non-fiction novel, which recently won Ireland's popular An Post Irish book award, documents Corr's spiritual journey following the death of her father. Overwhelmed with early childhood memories, Corr found herself grappling with her own mortality and a need to document her family's unique story. "My parents were musicians, I suppose it was inevitably that we would follow," she reflects of growing up alongside her siblings in a household filled with music before signing with Atlantic Records in the early 90s and embarking on a whirlwind career that includes performances with everyone from Bono to Céline Dion.

Refreshingly honest, deeply personal, unexpectedly funny and ultimately hopeful, Corr's book will resonate with anyone who has struggled with loss. That includes a series of miscarriages that she chose to share in solidarity with other women who have struggled with fertility. "What art does, be it a book or a painting, is shows you that you're not alone," says Corr, who hopes to normalize a conversation too often marked by private grief.

These days, happily, the striking Irish musician is mother to two little ones and radiant in ways that demand explanation. Here, she reveals the skin cream behind the blinding glow—and executes a smoky eye tutorial so effortless and ethereal, even Gucci does a double take.
