Q: What was the very first Westman Atelier product and why?
Three years since the Westman Atelier launch, many years in the making—this month marks a special milestone for Gucci, who dreamed of creating a clean beauty line as luxurious and high performing as any of the favorite go-tos in her professional kit. The initial spark for her namesake line, she says, came down to two things: It had to distill the radiant, "second-skin" look that defined her twenty-five years as a makeup artist into a simple, skin-loving “wardrobe’ of beauty essentials. And it had to do more than cover. “It had to calm and soothe the skin with active ingredients, as opposed to just correcting it.”
As for the one essential product that would anchor the clean, complexion system? It required 50 trials, a no silicones approach, and a game-changing stick formula that melts into skin on contact as easily as any liquid counterpart. Watch the full video for the big reveal—and an exclusive look back at the Westman Atelier product that started it all.
