"We live just a 30 minutes from Stone Barns Center, the extraordinary non-profit farm in upstate New York that educates the next generation of farmers, public citizens, and children on how their actions impact sustainability, climate change, and regenerative food systems. They're also the provider of the incredibly fresh ingredients used at Blue Hill's world famous farm-to-table restaurant, which is housed on the property but temporarily closed due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions.
Recently, I learned that Bill Hill is offering donation boxes of nutrient-rich food, filled with high quality vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy, to provide for ten individuals in need through a special pandemic-focused initiative: healthcare workers, seniors, and families primarily located in the Bronx, Queens, and Westchester, which have been hit hard by the virus. Through this program, they've fed more than 1,000 people each week during the COVID crisis and they're still going strong. They've also donated to local public school districts to supplement children who count on their free lunch programs—and what's more worthwhile than that?
If you're able to contribute, donating a box is an immediate way to make an impact. While you're at it, you can also check out the farm's incredible bread, vegetable, fish, pastry, and cake boxes for pick-up in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Sag Harbor, and Westchester. Profits for these artisanal boxes support local farms that have lost their markets due to the pandemic. This special initiative does good for everyone and it's close to my community and my heart." xx Gucci
