"I really love this idea of a wine-stained lip and playing around with different options for your color," says Gucci of taking a lush red shade into deeper, darker territory using the Lip Suede palette in Les Rouges.

In today's clean beauty tutorial, she shares her method for gently exfoliating away dead skin using a warm washcloth and Dr. Barbara Sturm lip balm. "The quality of your application will so much more beautiful, it will last you longer, and you'll be more comfortable," she explains. Plus, Lip Suede's innovative clean formula contains high percentages of cold pressed cherry and marula oils that nourish lips and keep rich saturated lip colors from drying out or hugging chapped skin.

Next, comes a custom color mixing session using Lip Suede and a strategic application. But the final touch is what gives the look its striking edge: "This is what I'd do as a makeup artist," says Gucci, dipping into the Vin Rouge shade from the Eye Pods shadow palette and layering on the velvety merlot pigment with a fingertip for a deep film noir effect.

As for an actual red wine-stained lip? The patchy, dark-in-the-center, I-look-crazy kind? There's emergency advice for that, too. Watch the full tutorial now to learn her pro technique!
