"As a makeup artist, I've always felt like the power of color and how it energetically makes you feel is unique. It brings such joy to your life. My friend J.J. Martin's gorgeous womenswear line, La Double J, is the epitome of that philosophy. She started her career collecting and selling vintage clothing and has always had a thing for colorful 70s-era Saint Laurent and Oscar de la Renta mixed with modern pieces. A few years back, she decided to take things to the next level and create her own Milan-based fashion label, crafting new clothes with vintage patterns found in a silk archive in Lake Como. What started with a single dress has evolved into a full lifestyle line, including some of my absolute favorite homeware—bright, colorful, extraordinary vases, plates, drinking glasses, and table linens that just make you instantly happy.

With the new norms of quarantine life turning every night into a cooking and clean-up moment, I've started having serious kitchen burnout. So when J.J. sent me the most beautiful peacock blue printed silk dress and a set of bright floral table linens and glassware last week, I was out of my mind with joy. They instantly changed the energy at our table and inspired me to plan for a proper date night. Suddenly the whole room felt special. Earlier this week, J.J. and I sat down for an IG Live chat and I was reminded of why her incredible spirit creates such joyful objects. In the midst of uncertain times, they're a real bright spot."
